Going off on a little tangent here for a moment – so apologies here.  I’m stuck in a bit of a rut and I’m not sure what to do.  Some of my friends from work are in a book club, and it’s inspired me to find one to join – but i can’t seem to find one that feels like it would be a good fit.

The one that my friends are in focus mostly on the ‘pop culture’ type books – the ones that are being made into movies or the series / books that are the talk of the moment.  While i’m interested in those – chances are i’ve read them already, when they first came out and have strong opinions because i’m a die hard fan.

Then, there’s the question about finding the book club that supports readers who love erotica – which is really something that I’d love to get into.  There’s something to be said about a bunch of friends sitting around analyzing the dynamics of a relationship that’s based on an alpha dominant and a ‘beta’ or yang who needs to be directed.

so…this leaves me in my conundrum.  Living in NYC, you’d assume that there’s a lot of option for me – tons of book clubs that would suit my needs, but I haven’t been able to find them.  I’ve searched online and the few that i’ve found descriptions of don’t seem like they’d be interesting enough for me.  I’m looking for a good debate, but also for some friends that i can bond over books with, and those who can keep pace with me in reading.  (or at least try).

Short Short here….if you know of any good book clubs in NYC – feel free to direct me to them, and if you have suggestions on how to find them aside from going online to Meet-Up or checking in the library or local book store (i’ve tried those), i’m ALL EARS.
