Overview

She’s sexy, fierce, and a loud-mouthed know-it-all…and she’s completely off limits.

Cecilia isn’t your typical college student. Hell, she isn’t a college student at all, but that doesn’t stop her from applying for one of the biggest and prestigious enterprises in the Midwest.

She wants it. She takes it.
She doesn’t let anything get in her way when it comes to finding out the truth.

When Bentley Leighton, soon-to-be CEO of Leighton Enterprises, meets “Ceci,” he’s instantly impressed. He doesn’t have time to train a new intern. However, when he sees her that first day, his intentions begin to change.

He’s the boss. She’s the intern.
Nothing can happen. It’s against the company rules.

Then again, rules were made to be broken.

What starts as innocent flirting becomes raveled up into so much more—secrets, lies, deceit.

My Thoughts

Well, it doesn’t take long to get into the thick of the plot here – we meet our leading lady Cecilia who’s had a rough time growing up for the fact that when she was 7, her world came crashing down when her father was murdered and no one knows who’s done it.  From that point on, it seems like that’s been Ceci’s goal in lifei – to sort out who killed him and why since it’s a cold case.

That’s what really starts our story – now that she’s in high school and has decided that she’s got one shot to figure out if there’s more information out there – to use her older sister Casey’s identity to get an internship at this firm that specializes in criminal justice and investigation.

It’s at the final interview that Ceci meets Bentley – the 26 yr old son on the CEO who has been told to take an active role in the company since it will be his when his father retires.  Not only does Bentley have the authority that seems to be good for Ceci, but he’s an ex model so he’s got the body as well, and he actually seems to be really interested in what the company does – so he’s someone that can spar with Ceci in all things related to business.

As short as this first installment was, we get a really good foundation of what’s to come.  Most of this story is a game of cat and mouse since we know that both leads are clearly attracted to one another and it’s a question of whether or not they will act on it.  the other piece is the suspense and anticipation of weather Ceci will uncover who killed her father and if she’ll do it before anyone realizes that she’s not her sister Casey.  That’s definitely going to be an issue given that this is a security firm and she’s not the person that she says she is.

So, it’s onto the next installment when i can get my hands on it to see how things continue on for these 2 – since where we are left off in book 1, Ceci is hiding under a desk, and Bentley knows exactly where she is…..but y?  i don’t know that he does.  Enjoy!
