Overview

Nathan promised Jessica just one thing during those nights in his hotel room – sex unlike anything she had experienced before. She thought it would be simple, but with a man like Nathan, that’s not possible. He was complex, determined and too tempting to resist.

When her life intersects with his in the most unexpected way, she realizes that fate and chance don’t exist in his world. When Nathan wants something, or someone, he’ll have it, regardless of the cost.

As Jessica confronts the past she ran away from, the present that consumes her and what it all means for her future, one brief moment changes absolutely everything.

There is no one who can shield her from what happens next.

My Thoughts

ARGH!  just when we all thought that they were making progress, Nathan had agreed to give up his ‘f*&% pad’ in the hotel, and Jessica was letting him in more – and things go awry.

While Cassandra still doesn’t know that her ‘boyfriend’ is the same guy that Jessica is seeing, there’s the on-going annoyance to Nathan in the form of Drew – the chef from the restaurant that Jess now works at, along with the brief arrival of Josh – Jessica’s ex from CT – trying to stir things up.  I was really hoping that something good would come of this, and while it seems like it’s possible, it also doesn’t.

They still have this undeniable chemistry – their passion and heat is really intense, and it’s something that we see continue to be steamy.  I feel like our author does a great job in reminding us that Jess is only 22, although she does like to make Nathan seem a bit less polished since he’s got the mouth of a sailor – and not just in bed!

So, while Jessica is still floating on her little cloud – enjoying what her relationship with Nathan has evolved to, staying at his apt every night and the sort, he goes out of town again for the weekend to Boston to see his family.  It’s that one weekend that Rebecca (Jess’s roommate) convinces her to go out to the same bar that she met him at that things get dicey.  Jess spends the entire night thinking that every woman there has been with Nathan, and of course if that wasn’t bad enough, we’re left off on a cliff where she discovers something even more heart breaking.  I wonder what more we can learn in Part 3.  Thank goodness that it’s out already – so i can just head into that now!
