Overview

After graduating from her M.B.A. program, Alice Reed is surprised when she’s recruited for the management training experience at legendary Camp Durand, owned by Durand Inc.’s young, billionaire CEO, Dylan Fall. The company usually recruits from Ivy League schools, not insignificant colleges like Alice’s.

Alice enthusiastically accepts, but she still wonders why Dylan would choose a girl from the wrong side of the tracks for the prestigious program. But after a passionate encounter one night, she discovers exactly why—Dylan wants her, and Alice can hardly resist his fierce sexual appetites, though she is amazed that she could appeal to an experienced, sophisticated man like Dylan.

As Dylan introduces her to thrilling, erotic territory, Alice discovers a delicious new part of herself. Night after night, she steals away to find ecstasy and escape in Dylan’s arms. But behind her lover’s powerfully magnetic facade, Alice senses darkness, secrets from Dylan’s past lurking in his beautiful, lonely mansion—secrets that are starting to haunt Alice. And the ghosts of the truth might tear Dylan and Alice apart forever . . .

My Thoughts

So you guys all know by now that i adore almost everything that Ms Kery writes so when i came across this fist installment to a new series,  i was THRILLED.  what we have here is another example of not just an incredible relationship full of combustion and passion with characters that have a compelling back story, but the over all plot – SO  GOOD.

Where to begin, we have 2 leading characters that have such a similar past it seems, but when things come to a head and we learn that there’s much more to the story with one of them, well we’re thrown right on our butts.  The other bit is that there are so many secondary characters that seem to be up to no good that you just wonder who’s trustworthy and who’s malicious.

I think that the development of Alice’s story is one that you never see coming.  You almost expect that this girl who’s not from an IVY league is going to be thrown into the mix partially because of her skill and ability but partially because the CEO wants her.  When we learn that there’s so much more – well, that makes things exciting.

We also have Dylan, a guy that no one knows much about and that’s curious in itself, but we also see that he’s got this heat and dark side that only Alice is able to bring out.  It’s hot and steamy and well, he clearly knows his way around a woman’s body.  A win again for Ms. Kery.

What i’m really curious about though is the story line with Brooke/Thad and then with Kehoe.  I feel like there’s something going on there that’s setting some folks up to be upset and thrown off track, and the question is who else is in on it and what are their motivations.  We know that Brooke is infatuated with Thad and that he says he’s not sharing the sentiment, but i still wonder.  and Kehoe – he just seems like he’s out of sorts and put upon because of what Dylan has and what he doesn’t.

Throughout this story though we see such a great relationship developing and building.  It’s not just the amazing sex and passion that’s shared but that Alice and Dylan find something in each other that makes them better.  The question for us is where to next with the next part of the series.  We know that there’s still the rest of the time at Camp Durand and we still need to see who’s chosen to work for the company.  I know that some folks that expect it will lose out and what will that mean for those who are chosen?  what will that mean for Alice since my assumption is that she’ll prove that she’s worthy.  So….on to the wait for the next book….enjoy!
