Overview

Struggling to keep her magazine company in business and recovering from a recent breakup, she feels high strung. And on top of that, she can’t stop staring at Nick, her magazine’s graphic designer. With the two of them left alone one night at the office, she decides to find out just how well he can take directions.

My Thoughts

I always enjoy stories where there’s a woman who’s not just a boss but a BOSS and that’s what we have with Kylie in this novella. She’s a woman who knows exactly what she wants professionally in staring a magazine, personally in kicking her ex to the curb and romantically when she decides that it may be interesting to see what may happen with a sexy graphic designer that works for her.

As the one at the helm, she has to motivate everyone, get status updates from all the key people and it’s during one of those meetings when her eye catches on this one guy in the room. Then, when deadines are fast approaching and she can’t bring herself to make anyone stay to help her close out the latest issue, she finds herself at the office late at night, alone ,or so she thinks. Previously mentioned graphic designer pops his head in, and well, he offers to help her, yet neither is overt on what help they are talking about

What happens from there is a very quick and expected bit of hot and steaming something or other. Kylie is the boss of course which makes this situation complicated and the fact that she’s realizing as well that maybe she’s not just a boss in the office makes this encounter that much hotter.

She tells him what she wants, he’s shy at first and then seems fully on board with what she’s asking and then all bets are off. The question that we beg however is what does this mean for the office and this duo moving forward and how will it complicate things?

Being that this is a novella, it’s one of many questions that we don’t have to stress about having answers to – so i think that we can leave ourselves to wonder. What i can say though is that this gets me back on board with Ms Sterling and the other stories that i’ve read that i’ve enjoyed!

Serena hasn’t worked long at the law firm before she catches the eye of Mr. Laing, a top lawyer within the company. She quickly falls into the role of his babygirl and submissive, pleasing him in every way she can think of.

One night, he takes her to a cocktail party, lavish and fancy compared to what she’s familiar with. There he tortures her in the sweetest way possible, barely hidden from the other unwitting guests. She hopes he enjoys his dessert later at home, but Mr. Laing may not be willing to wait that long.

My Thoughts

Happy Wednesday everyone! So here we are again, in one of the many worlds and stories by the great Ava Sterling. If you’ve spent time on her site to see the significant variety of what she writes, i think that you can see that i’ve been bouncing between category of kink trying to find which ones are my favorite. So this time around i’ve taken the leap into her own brand of power struggle, the master and submissive bit of romance. If you’ve spent time on my blog as well, you can see that I read quite a bit in this area, and it’s perhaps one of the more challenging ones, especially if you’re going to have a quick snippet or novella. There’s a trust dynamic and a storyline that needs to develop to truly understand how the dynamic works between the two.

I’ll start with saying that I really enjoyed that this story was focused in Manhattan since i like to see how my stomping ground gets incorporated into a story. We have a very successful man who has decided that his assistant is his new pet, and that’s something that Serena is completely on board with. I think that’s what fantasies are made of, being new to your job and some how catching the eye of your boss – a man who is powerful, wealthy and knows exactly what he wants and what you want when you don’t even know it.

We spend a quick night out with this duo – as they go from home where they are preparing for an event to the event itself where the control that Mr Laing has over Serena is impressive. He’s able to get her to do things that she never expected she would do, and she finds that she enjoys it more than anything. Where that takes them, both in private or in public is something that your imagination will have to run along with.

A parting thought that I have here is that this was a sweet quick intro into the world of control and dominance. It perhaps was a bit too sweet and quick though for my liking – i kept wanting to understand more of the back story here since that’s what really excites me. How did she get the job, what were his first advances, and what does it mean for her job long term. All things that we don’t get in a novella, but all things that i’m sure Ms Sterling has thought about should this have become something bigger.

A self-made Billionaire, Mr. Brenton is the type to go after what he wants. Now what he wants is Claire, but she’s more interested in padding her sales numbers than an erotic connection. At the sales appointment, it will be decided who gets what they want first.

My Thoughts

I’m a fan of this story – even more than the others that I’ve read recently by Ms Ava Sterling. What we have here is one of my favorite sub segments of the genre – the Alpha powerful man, and the sexy female who thinks that it’s her body that gets her what she wants until she realizes that she truly has the power because of how she carries herself.

What’s sweet about this story is that even though it’s a novella in length, we get an opportunity to see that there was a history between these two characters – a past shared experience and that’s what makes it feel more robust than others that I’ve enjoyed. While Claire clearly has her mind set on keeping her job and that means getting a sale out of a very successful yet handsome hotel owner, what she gets when she makes the attempt is so much more than she bargained for. Mr Benton has his mind set on success – and he is always successful. Will he be in this instance as well?

There’s a sweetness to this story while all the flirtation and heat is underneath. Mr Benton plays with Claire’s emotions and psyche which is a fun twist and the question from them will become how much will Claire bend, what will happen to her job, and what will happen to her. He’s skilled, capable of getting what he wants, when he wants it, and can she handle it? Very good question!

I wish we actually had more of this story as it has feelings of Sylvia Day and J Kenner among other authors when i read it.

One night, Danny finally gets Rose’s fantasy out of her, and it involves Ellis. Finding it more agreeable than she ever would’ve guessed, Danny volunteers to arrange everything. It’s then she adds a twist–outdoors, in public, and with a role to play.

She can hardly wait.

My Thoughts

Thank you again to our lovely author Ms Ava Sterling for sharing another fantasy driven read! i’m definitely a fan of women who aren’t afraid to voice their fantasies to their SO and in this case that’s exactly what we get with Rose. She’s been married to a man who wants nothing but to please her and take care of her and she’s content with that. Of course though, there’s always room for more right?

With this couple, we also have the supporting role of the husband Danny’s best friend Ellis. A man that Rose has an attraction to and a man who has been part of a fantasy of hers. The question becomes though – just how willing to please is Danny? Is he willing to share with Ellis and is that something that Ellis is even open to? The other nuance to this fantasy is that Rose wants to live this out in public – that’s another element that can make this dicey and really really hot at the same time.

the question that we ponder while this story plays out is whether or not Danny will give in to what his wife wants, will Ellis participate and what will it mean for the couple and the friends. If nothing else, we know that at least hearing the fantasy that Rose wants to live out will be hot and steamy since that’s what our author always does. It’s always a quick burst of intense heat and chemistry in a way that feels so real and within reach yet so unattainable at the same time. Anyway check it out and enjoy!

In his living room finishing up a shift, she overhears him giving some of these…instructions. She closes her eyes and fantasizes about them in a much different context. Right there and then, she hatches a plan to make him hers.

My Thoughts

OH how i have become a huge fan of these quick reads because they get right to the point without all the dramatic build up. As you guys saw in the previous story that i read by Ava Sterling, we had a leading lady who wasn’t quite satisfied with her life and relationship status. So that of course leads to trouble when you have a sexy female lead who knows what she wants.

In this story, Brooke is a house sitter – not so much a baby sitter which is possibly the best job ever for a college kid. She also has a boyfriend who she’s had over at the house since there’s nothing better than having an empty house to do what you want. In this case though, her boyfriend only wants to play video games while Brooke is trying to tease him into living out a fantasy. When that doesn’t happen, she notices that Mr Hightower, the man who’s house she’s watching is quite attractive. And takes matters into her own hands.

While you can imagine that this is going to be hot and steamy, you also have to acknowledge that he’s an older and more experienced guy, so there’s a bit of mystery that i’m not going to elaborate on for how things pan out. What i can say though is that our author does a great job of painting the picture in a way that draws you in, and keeps it on the right level of a college girl and her level of experience. So on that note…..

It turns out to be good timing, as she’s able to catch a rodeo that night. What she couldn’t have predicted was how close she’d become to two cowboys in particular, Luke and Logan, who both look incredibly alike. Friends for years, they both have the same dark hair and dark eyes, among other more…intimate features.

She starts out the night alone, and by the end, she has a hunky cowboy on each arm. The only thing better would be some private time alone so they can show her just how well they can share.

My Thoughts

To my readers – i’m new to Ava Sterling’s catalog and she’s got quite a bit which i’m sure you’ll start to get exposed to more and more from my blog now that she’s been discovered.

What we have here is a sweet novella about a girl who’s decided that being safe and doin the right and expected thing isn’t necessarily her path. After dealing with a boyfriend in college who kept playing the yoyo game, she’s decided that summer break will be her time to live her best life. and in this story – it’s at the hands (and mouths etc.) of a few really sexy rodeo guys!

Cora meets her destiny one night at a local rodeo where she quickly makes eye contact with two very sexy men who are competing, Logan and Luke. When the competition is over, her night begins and it quickly turns into an experience that none of them expected. See, typically when i read menage stories, the two guys are accustomed to what it’s like to share a woman but apparently Logan and Luke have never shared before but it seems to come naturally.

It’s hot and sexy and fun to read. I feel like there’s so much more that we could have gotten into with this story if it were longer, but i think this novella serves the purpose for what a lot of readers like myself want. a palate cleanse and something that’s hits the spot and hard…and just right. Enjoy!
