Overview

This pair of stepbrothers have their sights set on just one woman…

Scarlet Drake is an insurance fraud investigator hot on the heels of the thief who stole a multimillion-dollar art collection from tycoon Michael Vandenberg’s Hamptons estate. Unfortunately, the sexy Wolf of Wall Street is also her prime suspect—along with his equally mouthwatering stepbrother, Montana rancher Sam Reed. Scarlet quickly finds herself tangled up in the two devilishly handsome men, and ensnared in a web of family lies.

Michael is used to getting what he wants—and he wants Scarlet in his bed. Sam had no intention of getting emotionally or romantically involved with a woman again, but he can’t deny the sizzling chemistry with Scarlet. And when the three of them cave to one sinfully delicious night of sheer decadence, their sexy ménage becomes a fiery affair of the heart. But they don’t stand a chance at a happily ever after unless all of the absolute truths are finally revealed…

My Thoughts

First of all, thank you to the folks at both Netgalley and St Martin’s Press for the ARC – i’m clearly a fan of this series and am so happy to have it a few months ahead of time.

For those of you who have read the previous 2 installments in the series, you kind of get a sense of where this one is going.  We know the struggles that Jewel had with business and then her two lovers – but that seemed to work out.  Then there’s Bayli and her struggle with living her own life and then enter her two sexy men who righted everything as it needed to be.

So where does Scarlet’s story go.  We know that she’s a fraud investigator and a good one – hot on the trail of trying to solve the mystery of a stolen collection of art.  That takes her to one man in particular – Michael – who seems to have it all but potentially has a lot to hide.

This story goes in fast and furious when these two finally meet face to face – he’s a hard man to track down, and all thoughts of Scarlet’s go out the window when she sees him in person.  He’s a force to be reckoned with – powerful, controlling and incredibly sexy.  That almost derails her but she still manage to dig a bit deeper.  While one part of her mind wants to put him off the suspect list, the other part isn’t so sure.  What happens though is that their chemistry is so intense that even after 2 years of avoiding men, she falls into bed with him and their connection seems to be something so much more. so let’s pause that for a second.

Enter Sam, Michael’s step brother and a new suspect on the list.  Scarlet goes out to Montana to track him down and find out what he knows about the stolen art, and well, whatever we thought she had with Michael – it’s the same with Sam.  And she quickly learns that maybe there’s something more in line with what her friend have with their men when she learns that these two guys have an alibi that includes the same woman/women.

So our story goes from there.  We see how the heat and sparks aren’t unique to just one set of the couple and they are able to consider something more complicated.  The other bit is that these sparks lead them all down a path of finding more secrets about the family than anyone ever knew.

I have to say that i knew fairly early on who was in control of the art theft, however the complexities that came along with it, the back story etc – that was all completely left field and random.  I think that it’s to the congratulation of our author that she’s able to weave those bits it, just to keep things more exciting.

What we learn in this story is that people aren’t always what they seem and there’s often so much more under the surface that you shouldn’t discount it off the bat.  I feel like there was a lot of healing done for a lot of folks while along the way there’s a LOT of really hot and passionate sex.  All in all a great culmination to the series that i’ve enjoyed over the past months.  I hope you guys give it a read when it’s available.  Enjoy!

Overview

What do you do when you have not just one hot boss, but two? And they both want you?

What will it take to make her theirs?

Bayli Styles leaves California wine country behind for the bright lights of New York City, in search of fame and fortune. However, fame and fortune are a little further out of reach than she had hoped, so to supplement her meager modeling income, she seeks a hostess position at Manhattan’s hottest new venue, owned by billionaires Rory St. James and Christian Davila. Bayli gets much more than she bargained for when both devastatingly handsome and magnetic men make her blood sizzle…and offer her the guiltiest of all pleasures—themselves.

Bayli is the perfect solution to the two problems currently plaguing entrepreneurs Rory and Christian, professionally and sexually. She’d make the ultimate “face” for their current joint venture, but both men are thinking beyond business and waste no time seducing Bayli into their brand of double pleasure. In the end, the threesome will put it all on the line—their bodies, their hearts, their souls—either destined for failure, or for the redefinition of true love.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed the first story in this series – seeing how things could ultimately work out for Jewel and her two guys Rogen and Vin.  Gave us a great foundation to get into this amazing story with Bayli, although what’s the real likelihood that within a group of friends, multiple girls would find themselves in menages.  But oh well, that’s all the suspension of disbelief in reading right?

So to that point, we have a really great set of mains in this story -Bayli, a girl who gave everything to take care of her mother, and now that her mother has passed, she’s trying to take life by the horns and make a name for herself.  She’s destined for greatness and just needs to figure out how to get there.  Enter Rory and Christian.  Hopefully the answer to her prayers for a bit when she tries to land a hostess job at their new restaurant.  A place where she feels like she’ll be seen by the right folks to catapult her career.  Only she doesn’t land the job – she lands herself on the floor after Rory knocks into her.

Where we go from there is an expected path but one that’s so hot and interesting that it keeps me reading fast and furious.  Both Christian and Rory are taken with Bayli – not just by her looks but from the spark that she has inside – she’s intelligent, commanding and she’s not afraid of them.  The exact woman that they both need (cause they share of course).

The journey from here is one where they try to figure out how they can be together without compromising this top secret project that they’re trying to get off the ground.  A project that will give Bayli the exposure that she’s craving to make a name for herself.  There’s a lot of tension as to what they need to do to be successful and what that looks like.  There’s also a concern around fan bases for the two eligible bachelors since once word gets out that they’re linked to Bayli, then there will be fans with hearts broken everywhere.

That leads us to the point of tension in the story.  Bayli has had stalkers in the past and it seems as though one of the more terrifying ones is back – going after her with passion.  Well, we know that the guys will rally around her, and of course when they find that it’s not the same stalker who’s trying to do real damage to her, the story takes a turn that’s yet another turn in their path for them to be successful or not.

It’s a sweet story and Ms Fox has been able to craft this plot line in a way that’s unique from book 1 but still has a lot of the same values and context that made book 1 great.  We also continue to get to see how the relationships between the three girlfriends makes it that much more solid.  That’s what carries us through and will obviously give us something great for book 3 with Scarlet.  I can’t wait to see that one soon.  Enjoy!

Overview

In this novel perfect for fans of Lora Leigh, Maya Banks, and Shayla Black, Calista Fox delivers a sexy and sensuous friends-to-lovers tale with a delicious love triangle twist.

Jewel Catalano, Rogen Angelini, and Vin D’Angelo had been childhood best friends, spending every possible moment with one another. Rogen became her first love, the first one to show her what pleasure could be. Until a volatile feud erupted between their powerful California wine country families and she and Rogen were torn apart from each other. What she didn’t expect was to find comfort and passion like she had never known in Vin’s arms and bed. But when that too ended in disaster, Jewel moved to San Francisco to work for the Catalano empire. Years later, a series of daring acquisitions brings Jewel back to River Cross, the hometown where Rogen and Vin have recently returned as well. Jewel has the curves, the smarts, and the success to bring any man to his knees—especially the two men who remained best friends and still burn to possess her.

Mixing family business with erotic pleasure ignites a smoldering love triangle. But in order to pull off the bold deal that will build the trios’ own legacy and to stay in their heady, sensual paradise, they must discover what true love really is—or lose everything their hearts’ desire…

My Thoughts

First off i should thank the folks at Netgalley for getting me an ARC to read of this series introduction.  What we have here is an interesting tale of 2 past relationships merging into an interesting Menage, all with a family feud thrown in the middle.

We start off this new series with Jewel, a woman who’s part of a family dynasty, and yet someone who’s trying to make a name for herself.  she’s back in River Crossing, her family home in the hopes of striking a deal to get a piece of land that’s been left barren because of a family feud.  Of course, Rogen, the son of another well known family is also interested in the same piece of land.  and the challenge of course is that it’s barren land because their parents were intending to do a business deal 15 years prior that ended up going wrong, and for many reasons unkown, they aren’t allowed to touch it.

Jewel’s a shrewd business woman and has a plan to get the land, and just when she thinks that she’s been able to make the deal, she learns that it’s going to blow up in her face.  The saving grace though is that the same night that she strikes the deal with Gian, Rogen’s father, she connects with him and all the past heat between them ignites hotter than you can even imagine and we see something amazing start.

If that weren’t good enough, feeling the chemistry between them leap off the pages, Vin,Rogen’s best friend and psuedo brother shows up and there’s clearly a history between him and Jewel as well, and we see that she slaps him upon sight, and things go on an interesting path from there.

The rest of the story we see Jewel trying to make her deal happen, while also finding out that the heat and chemistry that she has with Rogen is back with even more passion.  We also learn that the hatred that caused this slap on sight from Jewel to Vin is fueled by their own passion from years past, and well, the threesome is born.

I’m a fan of good writing when we get the chance to have trios, however there were instances when i think that the heat could have been taken a bit hotter and further.  The story was maintained even without the extra umph and i’m quite interested to see where things go now that there’s a hint that we’re going to learn what caused the riff between families.

All in all, a nice intro to a new series and i can’t wait to see what’s next.  there are so many secondary character’s that we’ve met that i feel like spin off installments are due.  Enjoy!
