Bounty hunter Audrey Stroop returns from her trip to find that disaster has struck the family business… and it’s her fault.

She can’t focus on fixing the mess, not with the vindictive Henry Heigh back on the streets. Corbin has a way to solve the problem and he’s itching to return to his assassin ways. Audrey’s relationship with the gorgeous billionaire is stronger than ever, but if she can’t stop Corbin from killing, she’ll lose him forever.

My Thoughts

This story continues and there’s SO MUCH going on.  I feel like you never know which story line is going to take precedence here, and while it’s a good thing, it’s also a bad thing.

We get the story continued of Corbin sort of being pulled back into the profession and Audrey trying to come to terms with that

We also get that Henry is out of jail and is out for blood with Audrey, but we don’t know when and where he’s going to strike and what Corbin will do to protect her

We also know that Massimo is on the run since he’s wanted for JD’s murder, yet we learn that there’s something fishy going on since access to reports is being denied and it makes you wonder whether there’s someone else working this angle

Then there’s the question of whether or not Audrey and Corbin will find a way to co-exist especially since he wants to help the business, kind of wants to go into business with Audrey and kind of wants to run away.

There’s definitely a roller coaster here, and it’s not until the latter half though that we get any of the passion and heat that we’ve come to love and crave from Ms. Peitsche.  I feel like i kept waiting to see Corbin’s heavy hand come out and it wasn’t until we were towards the end of this installment that we really get what we need.  What he knows that Audrey needs and what we know governs his life.  He’s one to dominate, and it’s hot, and i’m glad that i was patient and got to that point.

So…all that being said, i can’t wait to see what happens next because we know that so many characters are being hunted, new ones are popping up and it’s just a mess of curiosity as to who’s going to survive, who’s going to be in jail and who is going to be happy.  So, onto the next, and hopefully i don’t have to wait very long for it.  Enjoy!

Lindsay needs to trust someone other than herself, and that means confiding her darkest secret to her billionaire bosses.

The secret that turned her into a desperate runaway seven years ago.

The secret that will destroy her innocent sister’s life.

With her cruel grandfather now aware of Lindsay’s location, time is running out. He’s coming for her, and each of her options can only lead to disaster.

Trusting Romeo, Slade, and Hawthorne will save her.

It will destroy her, too.

My Thoughts

You know how you really get into a story and you have to keep waiting and waiting for the next bits to be revealed?  I feel like that’s the case here – like i really want to know what’s going to happen with these 4 and i have to wait with baded breath for weeks to get the next installment. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always well worth it since you know that you’re going to get some of the dirtiest, raunchiest sex possible from Cleo all the while you’re enjoying a complicated story and plot line.

We pick up in this series with the 3 men deciding that they will do whatever they have to in order to protest Lindsey while taking her grandfather down.  They know that he’s a bad guy but maybe not to the extent of what he’s done yet, and it’s up to Lindsey to give them the necessary information.

If that weren’t enough, we also know that there are a LOT of emotions being tied up into this foursome.  We know that Hawthorne seems to be breaking down his walls a bit from her, and that there’s much less hatred – although it’s definitely still there.  We also know that the fondness that Lindsey has for Slade is reciprocated and that there’s a really strong bond there.  It’s interesting to see what Slade reveals though – and i think that while i expected much of it, it’s still interesting.  Romeo on the other hand, we learn that maybe he’s not as open as we would like and there’s a chance that we’ll learn the back story here.

The point of this installment is twofold i think.  One is to teach Lindsey a lesson, that she can’t just run away from the men and not have a punishment.  She’s being put through her paces at work now in a way that she’s not necessarily happy about yet i think that the guys have a reason for it and we’ll have to be patient to see exactly what their training entails.

The other point is that we need to see Lindsey’s grandfather taken down a few pegs and it seems like that’s not going to be nearly as easy as everyone hoped.  There’s a lot that Lindsey is still hiding and that can only allow the men to go so far.  What will happen is anyone’s guess at this point.

True to Ms. Peitsche’s style, we get some really dirty and hot scening – things that i can only imagine being AMAZING if you were on the receiving end.  Very hot, very steamy and quite naughty.  All makes for great reading for last night at least – a nice way to end my weekend.  From what i saw, it looks like i may not have to wait the longest amount of time for the next installment so i’ll be patient since we’re at such a pivotal part of the story.  and on that note – have a great day everyone!

Lindsay has never been so alone in her life.

After a private investigator exposes her, she’s on the run once more. Her bottomless bag of tricks is empty, and she’s filling it to the brim with regrets and mistakes.

As danger builds, Lindsay can’t stop thinking about her dominant bosses. Maybe Romeo, Hawthorne, and Slade could save her.

Maybe… if they could find her.

My Thoughts

I really love this story and i’m really curious as to where it’s going.  We know that there’s still so much more to Lindsay’s story than what she’s told the guys so far and i can’t wait to see what the juicy bits are.  I think that the fact that there are 3 very dominating men in her life now, there will be enough safety and security for her to open up and let them help her out.

So where we find ourselves in this next installment is that Lindsay has run away from the guys if you recall and that she’s not in Millford Crossing, the town that she grew up, in the hopes of seeing her sister, yet she seems to be tooscared to really go to the mansion in case her grandfather is there and sees her.  that would be bad.

So we are with her while she’s holed up in hotel, hiding out and trying to bide her time, all the while she’s saddened that none of the guys have reached out to her and she’s even more upset that she’s feeling sad about that too.

It’s only when there’s an emergency with Bandit, the cat that Hawthorne rescued for her that things take a turn.  She’s forced to reach out to get the name of Hawthorne’s sister, and well, you can only assume that once contact is made, the men will come swooping in and take control again.  I think that the best bit here is that you just don;t know what that will mean for Lindsay and what she’ll have to give up in the meantime.

The nice thing about this short novella installment is that we get to the crux of a few things.  We slowly see that barriers are coming down and we see that there’s still a chance that she’ll open up to the men even if they prod her.  In return, they offer to give up some information about themselves too so that it’s a semi-even trade, and i think that it’s only going to make their relationship stronger – assuming that they are able to repair it.  and that’s still to be seen.

As we have come to expect from Ms. Peitsche, we get some GREAT scening.  while it’s limited here in this 77 page installment, what we do get is great.  It’s the mix of Naughty BDSM and group activities that i don’t know what i’d do without when i read her series.  While it’s not my personal thing, the way that it’s written is still hot and you can see that there’s such chemistry between these 4 that you can help but be intrigued and turned on.

So with that thought, i’ll leave you and i guess well just have to wait and see what’s next.  i think that their relationship is getting to a point where it’s got to take a big leap or things will fall apart, and then there’s the tension of grandfather and what it is that he has over Lindsay and vice versa.  so…..Enjoy!

Review: Broken (By a Dangerous Man #7) by Cleo Peitsche

Title:  Broken

Series: By a Dangerous Man #7

Audrey’s shortcomings as a bounty hunter and as a girlfriend rise to the surface during a trip to Paris, and Corbin is the only one who can save her… But will he forgive her?

A desperate fugitive begs Audrey to help clear him of a murder charge. He’s hiding something, but he isn’t necessarily guilty. Before Audrey can make a decision, she learns that she and her family are already involved.

My Thoughts

I don’t know that i can honestly say that there was a significant point to this 7th installment.  While we finally made our way to Paris with Audrey, there wasn’t much substance to the piece tied to her and Corbin.  Yes, their relationship is in a weird place but there wasn’t that much development with that.

What we did get though is the interesting twist and turn of events tied to Massimo – the guy that Audrey had been asked to investigate.  Although if you remember, she didn’t think that there was anything notable to worry about with him before, she sees him on her flight to paris which is strange and then he confronts her and gives up information that may tie him to a murder and beating of Neil (his ex) and Neil’s ex Jack.  That’s really the big excitement in this next set of chapters.

What i’m still pondering though is whether Massimo did it and if he didn’t – who did?  While it won’t make or break the story – i thin kthat it’s an interesting sub plot.

What happens towards the end though – the information that we learn that Henry is getting out of jail, well that’s a great piece of information since you know that something bad is going to happen.  Given that Corbin’s attention isn’t focused 100% on Audrey, (he’s still searching for his ex wife and the informant we learned has escaped) it will leave an open opportunity for Henry to get at Audrey and that means that we’ll get to see the bad ass side of her again i’m sure.  Whether it will be in the US or in Paris i’m not sure, but i’m sure that we won’t be disappointed.

The sweet element of this story though ist hat we get to see that Corbin really is in the relationship for all the right reasons and even though Audrey is a bit uncertain about her place with him, he’s clear that he doesn’t just love her, but that he’s IN LOVE with her and that’s what every girl wants to hear.  the other bit is that he asks her about marriage and what she thinks and while her response isn’t necessarily the one that he was hoping for, at least it leaves the door open for things.  I feel like his dom side will make thigns all work out in the end.

Throughout this installment though, at least we continued to get what Cleo does best.  Steamy, passionate, naughty sex and that’s something that you come to crave from her stories.  We see that there’s still such great chemistry between our mains even though they may not be in the happiest of places. i think that the fact that Audrey thrives and loves the pain and punishment aspect of what they do makes it even hotter and while it’s not necessarily one of my own personal things (at the moment) it’s still really hot and exciting.  so….enjoy!

Review: Dared (By a Dangerous Man #6) by Cleo Peitsche

When assassin Corbin Lagos chose Audrey over his career, she believed nothing could come between them. But a stranger’s disturbing news, if true, will take Corbin away forever.

Her twin brother convinces her to invest everything in the family bounty hunting business even as she secretly accepts her first private investigation case.

My Thoughts

Thinking back to the first five installments to this series, i feel like we were in a really anxiety ridden place – wondering what was going to be the end game for this couple and what that meant for their respective careers.  We know that Corbin decided to walk away from everything in order to be with Audrey – and the question really lies in my mind whether he would be able to hold true to that choice and whether he would then resent Audrey.

The other piece is that i keep forgetting how young Audrey really is – she’s really inexperienced in all things romance related and knowing that Corbin’s older, domineering and well – he’s basically given everything up for her – what does that actually mean for them.

Throughout this first installment in what’s supposedly the next ‘chapter’ of their series, we  get to see what life is like for them.  While there’s still that passion that leaps off the pages, it’s definitely taking a bit of a different edge these days.  While Corbin is great at keeping things steamy and hot, he knows how to get the responses from Audrey that he’s looking for, it seems like her passion has almost a desperate tinge to it.  Add that to the fact that her professional life is in flux, well – that makes for some interesting scening.

Aside from all that, there are a few other plot lines simmering underneath.

1) What’s going ot happen to the business now that there are a lot of employees a lot of work, yet it’s not something that Adurey is 100% passionate about.  She’s surprised to see that her brother is stepping up in a way that he’s never done before, but personally i wonder if there’s another motivation there outside of just taking on more responsibility now that Audrey isn’t as driven.

2) There’s the continued story line that talks about Martin and the curiosity that Audrey has of him.  I feel like there’s going to be more about him as this piece of the series continues.  there’s no way that our lovely author would have all this build up on Audrey thinking that he’s sketchy and not have something come of it.

3) Henry potentially getting out of jail.  you know that he’s out for blood and i think that we’re going to see things come to a head especially when ti seems like Corbin may become distracted in the near future because…..

4) his wife may be alive.

So, all of that, add the passion and confusion of Corbin and Audrey’s relationship and you’ve made for a great read.  Thankfully i have the next installment already, so after i get a few other things off my plate, i’m going to dive right back into this series and see what’s what.  Enjoy!

Working for Romeo, Hawthorne, and Slade is a challenge, but the dominant men give Lindsay exactly what she needs. Even though Hawthorne continues to drive her insane, she’s happy with her new life.

But when a stranger with a gun steps out of the shadows, Lindsay realizes that happy is dangerous.

Happy will get her killed.

A woman with Lindsay’s past doesn’t have the luxury of waiting for a knight on a white horse. She’ll have to settle for an arrogant, condescending billionaire… one whose goal has always been to get rid of her.

Desperate women don’t get easy choices.

My Thoughts

Well, we’re slowly but surely seeing Hawthorne warm up to Lindsay – so that’s a good thing since we know how much tension there is between them.  He’s definitely the dominant in this whole party . And there’s reason for it i guess.

So where we pick back up in this third installment is where Lindsay is helping finalize the buyout of a company and she’s working late for her three men.  Of course she gets to ogle them and fantasize about them, but the problem is that while she looks at them separately, they’ve made it clear that it’s an all or nothing thing so she just gets to dream.

Things take a turn for the worse one night when she’s working late and let her guard down and is kidnapped.  We know that her grandfather is looking for her, yet we really don’t know what the deal is there – there has to be more to the story than what we’ve been told – that Lindsay and her sister were used for law suits – but we just haven’t gotten to the crux of it yet.  I feel like we’re on the edge of a breakthrough in this book, but nope  just teetering over the edge.

What’s nice here is that we get to see some great one on one time with Lindsay and each of the men.  it’s hot and not just in a sexual way since you know that can’t happen.  there are romantic notions and bonds being developed that make this story even more interesting to read.  I can only hope that we get to see a happy ending – yet i think that knowing how skittish Lindsay is, it’s going to be hard to get there.

It’s another cliff hanger that we’re left on – after nights of great passion and raunchy scening, she’s making a choice again – where she needs to be and if she has to go on the run again- and based on her past, going on the run is what she’ll do….where though?  that’s another question entirely and who’s going to find her first – the threesome or her grandfather’s hired guns?

The skills that keep Lindsay alive are turning into liabilities. She needs to keep covering her tracks, which means lying to her bosses in order to hide her true identity.
Hawthorne, Romeo and Slade are powerful men who have zero tolerance for what they perceive as disrespect. They spell it out clearly: no more lies. As much as Lindsay wants to walk away, she knows the three men give her something no one else can.
When someone from her previous life recognizes her, her bosses demand to know who she really is and what she’s running from.
Is a half-truth a truth? Or is it just another lie?

My Thoughts

The story continues with these 4, and if you remember, we last left them when there was an offer out to Lindsay for a better working situation.  To Hawthorne’s chagrin of course though since he’s the one that outwardly seems to have the biggest issue with her.  (personally i think that it means that under all the facade – he likes her the most).  anyhow, we are now picking up as she’s in a different position, working for the guys in a way that will help their business.  she’s there as an asst officially but instead she’s able to watch the room during meetings and help sort out the best angle for their success.  She’s excelling at this of course and well, i’m sure there’s more that’s going to come of it.

Throughout this 2nd installment, we are left to wonder what the depth of Lindsay’s secrets are, especially since we find her at the bank trying to empty her safety deposit box, all the while looking over her shoulder.  and spying someone that is questionable and makes her uncomfortable.  I can’t wait to see what happens – if it’s just a matter of someone looking for her to bring her home, or if she’s in ‘grave danger’.  seeing as how she talks about feeling safe in Slade’s arms – i’m guessing it’s more the latter.

anyhow, we get some great scening with this story line – there’s something hot about a woman who knows her sexuality, and yet is so easily overpowered by 3 men that own theirs.  The things that they do to her, all at the same time are graphic, but hot at the same time and i think that we’ll see that as hot as it is, the all or nothing may become a problem.  who knows though.

So, we are left off wondering if they are going to let her go since she’s hiding her secrets, or if they are going to continue down the path.  will Hawthorne continue to have issues or will he warm up to her and well, what’s the end game?  I still don’t know what they are all hoping to get out of this, and well, since we don’t have a full back story, we don’t know what started it in the first place.  Oh well.  enjoy!

To stay alive, Lindsay has always relied on her looks and her wits. It’s not always enough, and underneath her carefully polished exterior is a desperate woman who will do anything to survive.

When she’s called to account for her misuse of the company credit card, she hopes to flirt her way out of trouble. Instead she finds herself faced with a gorgeous stranger who is immune to her manipulation, and she’s shocked by the punishment he deals out.

No one in the office can tell her who the stranger is, and when she encounters him again weeks later, things take another unexpected turn… times three. Three handsome, rich businessmen. In their arms, she almost feels safe.

But she knows the truth: safe is an illusion, and staying alive is all that matters.

My Thoughts

What we have here is a style of series that our author Ms. Peitsche does best.  We get a leading lady that has an interesting back story that we won’t know the gist of for a while and many many successful sexy men that are going to intertwine themselves into her life.  In the case of past series that i’ve read, there’s always at least 1 man who hates her, one who’s ambiguous and one that really wants to protect and coddle her.  That’s what we have here.

Hawthorne, the first man that Lindsey meets is the one that hates her, and the one that seems like he’s really the Alpha among this pack.  He’s not necessarily thrilled with the way that things are going but i think that he’s going to be the one to keep it all together.

Romeo (lovely name no?) is the one that is a bit ambiguous at times, he’s attracted to her of course and finds her value but he’s not necessarily leaning in any one direction.

Slade – he’s the interesting one – he definitely appreciates what she has to offer, wants to protect her and actually makes Lindsey feel safe when we’re not sure what she needs to keep running from.

Throughout this story, we get a few scenes that really makes you wonder how much one girl can take from multiple partners at the same time, and these gentlemen push her to her limits on several occasions.  There are hints of what Lindsey is running from – something that has to do with her Grandfather – but to what extent – that will hopefully unfold in the coming installments.

So, between you and me, i’m really interested to see where this relationship goes.  They offer her a better opportunity for work as a way to stay with them as well as to repay her debt and i think that we’ll see if that’s a good idea or not.  I think that we will be left with some great tension since that’s always the case with this author, and you won’t be left wanting heat and passion and chemistry either since there’s something to be said about how Ms. Peitsche weaves a story that includes so many partners without crossing over any hard limits.  so….onto the next i suppose and enjoy!

When Corbin doesn’t return from his latest assignment, Audrey blames and punishes herself, convinced she pushed him away. Fed up with the lack of control in her life, she and her twin brother devise a risky plan to get rid of the manipulative Henry once and for all.

But Corbin’s return changes everything, and Audrey must decide if she can accept the things Corbin has done to buy their happiness.

My Thoughts

knowing where we were left in the end of book 4, i think that it’s safe to assume that the roller coaster was going to continue.  Audrey had professed her love to Corbin and he didn’t reciprocate.  He even sort of pushed her away – at least in Audrey’s eyes, at the same time learning about his haunted past of his first wife who was murdered.

While Audrey’s stewing, she’s left to deal with Henry who still has it out for her since she ruined his chances with Corbin’s bond – and Henry’s tailing her in the hopes that she’ll lead him to Corbin.  While that’s going on, Rob – Audrey’s twin is left to deal with what’s going on at the business since he’s still there -while working with Audrey to plot how to get things back as they should be.

So most of this story is more about the chase than about passion, but when we get the passion – it’s as good as always.  It’s really just a flashback in a scene where Audrey is hiding that takes us back to one of Corbin and her first moments together – and it’s steamy as ever.

Throughout this final installment of ‘Season 1’ as Cleo has called it, i think that we’re learning more about what people will do to find balance, all while testing their own selves with love and romance.  I think that we all hoped that corbin would come back, but in what capacity is still unknown.  He said that he was hoping that this last job would get him out of his line of work, but since it’s been 2 months and he said he’d be back in 1 – we just don’t know.  I like where this story is going, and since it’s not a cliffhanger – things are somewhat resolved for most, while still rather open ended for others.  Meaning, if you use Soap Operas as a base – you know that people are never dead unless a body is found (and sometimes even when one is) and if someone’s in jail, chances are there’s a loop hole that will get them out.  So – i’m hoping that we’ll get more of this story – and how it continues is up to our lovely author.  Enjoy!

Series: By a Dangerous Man #4

As Audrey struggles with her role in a recent tragedy, Corbin answers questions that have long haunted her. She is unsettled to learn what happened to the other Audrey and how Corbin became a killer.

Meanwhile, events at home take an unexpected turn, leading Audrey to reevaluate her feelings for her estranged father, and bounty hunter Henry’s obsessions push Audrey and Corbin into a series of impossible positions.

My Thoughts

What a great continuation of this series – given that where we were left off in book 3 was a real cliffhanger.  To refresh your memory – Audrey was trying to get her hands on all of the photos of her and her brother that were taken to blackmail them in part by their father and mostly by Henry.  So – while she was trying to get all copies – and was back in the office – she ran into Zack – the guy that was doing Henry’s dirty work – and ended up accidentally killing Zack.

Fast forward us a few hours – Corbin has come to take care of everything – cleaning up the office – disposing of the body – and getting Audrey out of the area for their final week together before he has to go to work for a month – hopefully for the last time.

So while we take the quick journey of Audrey trying to get past what she’s inadvertently done, we get immersed into the story of the continued evolution of the relationship between these 2.  We continue to see Corbins protective side and how he cares for Audrey deeply – but he still has his walls up.  While he’s showing her more about the passions and chemistry that they share – he’s also beginning to open up about his past to give Audrey a sense of why he does what he does.

Where that nets everyone out though isn’t the best place since deep emotions tend to make situations even more risky.  What happens towards the end though is partly expected – yet very unnerving.

Audrey’s father is in the hospital for reasons unknown, and while it’s not safe for Audrey to be there, she has to be at her father’s side.  Corbin goes with her and his identity is recognized by Henry – making things even more challenging for Audrey since this is just when Corbin needs to go off grid and there’s no one around to protect her.

The last few lines though make us wonder what’s going to happen – since we know that Henry is out for blood – and Corbin is still away – with his arrival time past due.  Can’t wait to see where this story goes – because it has the right balance of what we need.  Hot sex, really good writing, and a tense storyline.  Enjoy!
