Overview
I met Clara Bishop when I least expected. Loving her was nothing I could ever have imagined. We’ve weathered dangerous storms together, but our love has always been a tempest. I’m not a perfect man, but I will fight to protect her and I’ll do everything in my power to keep her. But first I have to prove that she completes me.

Return to the world of the Royals and their intersecting lives, loves, and secrets. When Alexander discovers a shocking mystery in his father’s past, it threatens to divide him and Clara forever. As Belle builds her company, she ignores the pain of last year’s events. Can Smith help her move forward once and for all? Edward shocked everyone when he embraced his love for David, but a wedding seems further away than ever before. Will the couple finally make the leap? It’s going to be a scandalous, steamy holiday season for each of them.

My Thoughts

where this 7th installment takes us is a place full of closure across almost all of our favorite characters.  We see chapters intertwining the stories of Clara/Alexander, Belle/Smith, Edward/David – with each taking us to a complicated point in their lives.

We’re a year in the future and we are seeing how life has settled in for them, yet how it’s still so unsettled.

For Alexander/Clara, they have their daughter, they have their country to run, and they have their relationship, but we see that there are still so many secrets that are being kept that it threatens the happiness of their marriage.  Alexander keeps too many things close to the chest at the detriment of Clara’s feelings.  This means that we spend much of the story seeing a rift in their relationship. Top that off with the fact that we learn there’s a brother that Alexander didn’t know about, and there’s a question as to who he is and why he was kept a secret.

Then there’s Smith and Belle.  they are unsettled in the sense that their relationship is good but there’s still so much that threatens them from the past.  No one has confirmation on who killed Hammond and while they know it wasn’t Smith, the reprive that they have in feeling safe can’t last forever.  Add to that the fact that they both want to expand their family yet are afraid, we see that cause a bit of a ruffle in things.

Then there’s Edward and David, the couple that’s finally been allowed to enjoy each other how they want, yet they have challenges of their own.  Marriage is tough, especially when it’s only recently become accepted.  then there’s the fact that David wants a baby, and he often feels like he comes in second to Belle and Clara – so you know that what’s next for them won’t be something that’s come by easily.

All in all, i think this is the exact finale that we needed for this entire series.  We see so much come full circle and we see so many questions answered but there’s still so much that we don’t know for the future and wish that we could have the crystal ball to see.  Will Alexander and Clara finally be able to liver their happy life sans secrets and will the secrets kept thus far cause too much pain?  will belle and Smith ever get their baby and feel safe from the powers that be?  and will edward and david finally get their happily ever after?

the one thing that i can say i’m hoping for next though is a spinoff with Brex and Georgia and then a story line for Lola since i feel like these are all characters that we spent quite a bit of time with but never got to see their stories play out.  That’s my ask – hopefully it’ll happen.  On that note – enjoy!

Overview

Smith and Belle’s captivating story races towards its breathtaking conclusion in Capture Me.

I never expected to fall in love with Smith Price. Now he was more than my lover. He was my obsession. My savior. My future.

But someone had to pay for the sins of our fathers. Ghosts don’t always haunt you. Sometimes they stalk you down and demand retribution.

We promised each other forever, but we might not live to see tomorrow.

My Thoughts

What we have here is the roller coaster of a finale to Smith’s and Belle’s story.  There’s so much going on between them and around them that you really have no idea who’s going to last and what it’s going to mean.

Throughout their story, we know that Smith’s past is dark and dreary yet we don’t know the extent of it and i don’t know that we’ll ever learn about what it truly is.  We know that he’s controlled by Hammond and that his father was as well, but there’s so much more to the story.  Even to the point that Smith’s working with Alexandra to take Hammond down.

Of course that means that Belle will again be caught in the crossfire.  While her past isn’t the best, she’s making her future with Smith, and that’s coming with it’s fair share of pain and suffering.

We know that they secretly got married while in New York and we know that they want to make a life together, but each is a target now for Hammond and each will do whatever they need in order to keep the other alive and safe.  That comes at a Price (no pun intended).

So throughout this final installment to their story, we see that they are torn apart, pulled together, scared out of their minds through car jackings, murder etc, that you wonder if love is enough to keep them together.

Tying it all together, we get to see how the truly dominant side of Smith is the perfect thing to keep them together – Ms Lee is really doing a great job with this story line giving him that persona – so that we get to see that what he was raised to do within the lifestyle isn’t what he needs in his life but it’s come in handy when certain skills are needed.  It’s hot and passionate and exactly what’s right for this story.

So all in all, we get closure on things with quite a few surprises.  Characters that we love aren’t where they are meant to be necessarily in the end.  And in the author’s notes, there’s the teaser that there will be more so i can’t wait to see a story for Edwards, and hopefully for Lola and Georgia as well.  Enjoy!

Overview

Belle Stuart walked into my life with crimson lips, and a smart mouth to match, that made it impossible not to put her in her place—and on her knees.

She should be off-limits. Claiming her was reckless. Keeping her is dangerous. But she’s more than a conquest, she’s my obsession.

I’ll do what it takes to protect her, even if it means letting her go.

But she’s the one woman I can’t give up. She’s the one woman I can’t stop craving.

She’s the one I covet…

My Thoughts

Well, it didn’t take long for them to find that they can’t keep their hands off each other and that it’s going to lead somewhere bad (and maybe a bit good).  The path that this next installment takes us on is one that’s quite the roller coaster.  Belle has no choice but to follow her heart and body into the arms of Smith, and he feels the same.  the challenge though is that Hammond is still trying to pull strings to keep a vendetta going, and that means that things will be bad.

So at the end of the last installment, Smith had ‘fired’ Belle in the hopes of getting her off Hammond’s radar, and therefore prompting Belle to start her business Bless.  That’s starting to get legs, and she even finds herself with an opportunity to fly to New York for a huge interview for a magazine.  Of course this comes at a good time because she’s beyond miserable because of what’s going on with Smith – he breaks up with her in the most disrespectful way, and that means that in addition to being a target, she’s got a broken heart.

Lola, Clara’s sister begins to take a larger role in things, we see her coming on as a partner for Bless, and that’s the help that Belle needs.  We also see that Edward is continuing to be the voice of reason, although he’s got definite opinions about Smith and none of them are good.

The trip to New York brings around new revelations for Belle and Smith, with even more secrets being created and hidden.  IT’s all a set up for what’s to come towards the end of the story.  We see alliances that we were unsure about before, attempts at murder and even murder itself.  Someone that we love seems to be dead, and now there’s not one but 2 attacks on Belle that leave her on a ledge.

So all in all a great continuation to the story.  And if that angst and anxiety weren’t enough, we see how Dominant Smith truly is even if he’s not willing to live the lifestyle anymore and it makes for some incredibly steamy scenes.  Thank you Ms Lee for writing all that in, and i can’t wait to jump into the next installment tonight.  Have a good one all!

Review: Crave Me (Royals Saga #4) by Geneva Lee

Title: Crave Me
Author: Geneva Lee
Publisher/Year: Geneva Lee 7/21/15
Length:   209 Pages
Series:  Royals Saga #4

Overview

Belle’s story begins in the captivating fourth installment of the New York Times bestselling series. I made myself a promise: No men. No romance. No waiting around for a prince that’s not going to come. Because some girls don’t get happily ever afters. Some girls only get broken hearts. Which is exactly why I should stay away from him. He’s vile. He’s arrogant. He’s controlling. And I don’t trust him. But some men get into your blood-under your skin. Some men you just can’t get enough of. Some men you just crave.

My Thoughts

Well if you didn’t get enough in the main series with Alexandra and Clara, you know that there’s so much more that could be done with Belle, Clara’s roommate.  We last knew that Belle had been cheated on by her fiance Phillip and she was now starting a new chapter in her life – trying to move on.  She’s now in a different situation though cause she has no job, and Phillip had provided her with financial support which she no longer has.  So this is the story of how she begins to stand on her own two feet.

That of course takes us to the law offices of Smith Price – a man who is looking for a personal assistant.  Somehow Belle manages to land that job, and she’s in way over her head since from the second they meet, there’s an electricity between them, so much heat and tension that it’s palpable.  (and very different than what we had in the first bits of this series).

So the journey that we go on is one that’s heated, intense and quite complicated.  Our author keeps things very close to the vest in the sense that we really dont know what we’re getting into – we don’t know what Price’s background is aside from that fact that it’s shrouded in mystery and danger.  Belle knows this but still manages to get ensnared in all that is him.

We see a variety of folks come into the story that want to hurt both of them, and we see that one in particular, the man who gave Price his start is really after him for something or another.  We don’t yet know what the end game is for either but we know that it’s not good.  Add in Georgia, Price’s pseudo sister and Hammond’s ‘daughter’ and we learn that there’s definitely a bit of twisted ness going on.

Top that all off, we get a glimpse into the Alpha male that Price is – his need for control, dominance and submission.  we learn of Velvet, a BDSM club that he’s involved in and yet we don’t know what the extent of all that is.

Where we are left at the end is a place where we totally expect to be – Price is trying to protect Belle at all costs and that means that their relationship has to change and not in a good way.  soo…onto the next!

Overview

As the world tried to tear us apart, Alexander fought for me, claiming me as his own. I belong to him—body, heart, and soul. I found strength in his dominance. In his control. In his love.

Still I could always feel it: the darkness creeping toward our joy, threatening to overcome us. But I never imagined it would end like this. I thought I knew what marrying Alexander meant to my life. To my independence. To us.

I was wrong.

Ripped apart by tragedy, fighting for love, Clara and Alexander face their darkest hour in the stunning conclusion to their saga…

My Thoughts

Well, we know that things had to get worse before they got better and while we know that they are DEEP in love and that they are potentially meant to be together, we’re left to wonder if they will be together and how many people are going to get in their way.  From the teaser at the end of book 2, we get the sense that someone’s buying a gun to kill Clara and/or Alexandra, and my assumption at least is that – and that it’s Daniel, but we go through the story wondering when the attempt will happen.

Not only do we have that level of anxiety throughout the story, we also wonder what’s going to happen with the happy couple to keep them together and pull them apart.  We know that the king really does NOT want Clara as part of the family and will never accept her – yet i’m curious what the true motivation there is – since there has to be more than her American accent and the fact that she’s not the one that he chose for Alexander to marry.

There’s also the question of what’s to become of Edward’s happiness and if he’ll find happiness.  i think that we’re all rooting for him since he’s the ‘touch stone’ for Clara when she’s going out of her mind with issues that Alexander has.  I really like how the royal family is so diverse, but i wonder if it’s really too much to be real.  The eldest son who’s not just marrying a commoner (like the real prince did), but that she’s also semi-American, and the younger son who’s in love with another man, and a wife/mother who passed away at a young age.  All cliche things when you look at it rolled together but some how it works.

On top of all the royal family issues, we also have the underlying story of Belle and Phillip since things just don’t seem settled there, and i’m not surprised at all where we go with them.  there’s also Pepper – the gift that keeps on giving, and then there’s also the new girl Georgia that we meet, and whom i guessed her role in Alexander’s past even before it was voiced.  What she’s been hired to do however, that i’m still trying to understand since i’m not sure that i follow how she’s able to do what she’s being paid to.

In any event, through the roller coaster of emotions, we get some of the steamiest scenes between the lovers that you can possibly imagine.  We know that they are VERY in love and that translates to passion that leaps off the pages and it hasn’t seemed to die down at all through any of the 3 books.  I keep hoping that there will be a bit of dimming at one point or another, and there’s not.  They are going strong, still in the honeymoon phase with how they can’t keep their hands and lips etc off each other and i don’t know about any one else who’s reading, but i actually had to read quickly through a few pages since i was on a plane and i didn’t want to have someone look over at how hot it was.

What i didn’t expect necessarily was where the end of this story took us, and i won’t give spoilers so have no worries.  I was hoping that some of it would happen, maybe not in the manner that it did, but i feel like there were conversations that had to happen to get some of the resolution.  the other bit though is that there are deaths in this story.  Some of course are necessary to keep the story going, but i feel like i wish that some didn’t happen since there was unfinished business.  The epilogue though takes us to a great point in the future, not terribly far but far enough to give us a glimpse into what may be one day….and what it will look like to those who remain with us.  So, all in all, one of my top series – i think that all 3 books were GREAT and our author Ms. Lee did a great job in keeping us engaged, intrigued and really really hot.  Enjoy!

Title: Conquer Me

Overview

Love doesn’t always conquer all, but it can conquer me.

Alexander had the world at his feet and me on my knees until secrets tore us apart.
I should stay away from him. I should run. But I’m addicted to him…to the pleasure and the pain.
He warned me about his dark side…about his past. But I have a dark side, too. Together we’ll conquer our demons…if we don’t destroy each other first.

My Thoughts

STILL LOVE this series.  I went back to read what my thoughts were on the first installment of this series since i have such a positive reaction and yup – it holds true.  There’s something to be said about a story that has so much tension, passion and anxiety in it, and it is all written so well together.  You really don’t know what’s going to be thrown at them next, even though you fully understand what the underlying issue is.

So we join this series again when Alexander and Clara aren’t necessarily together, yet they can’t be apart from one another.  Alexander has told her that they can’t be together since there are expectations on who he’s to be with since he’s the Crown Prince, and yet there’s such a strong attraction and bond between them that it’s futile in a sense to try to stay apart.  The other bit is that we know that Alexander has hinted at the fact that he’s a dominant and while he’s not one to actively pursue the lifestyle, we know that it’s a part of who he is.

If that wasn’t enough, we know that there’s so much more going on.  We know that Pepper has her own motivations in the story – i know that she wants to be with Alexander and not  for love but for what he can do for her and what he can give her (money and all that other stuff to be spoilt with).  What’s interesting though is where our author takes her in this installment. While i knew that there was going to be more about the car crash coming up i think that the other bit of information that we learn, that Clara is able to use against her is even jucier.

And there’s more.  We see that the perfect world that Clara thought she had with her family isn’t quite as sound, and we see her mother and father’s relationship tested.  The good thing though is that even with everything that’s going on with those folks, Clara continues to have a confidant in Edward – Alexander’s brother – and she’s able to get some sense of sanity and life back into herself.

If you thought that perhaps all that was enough to make for a great 2nd installment, there’s still so much more that goes on.  We have a jilted psycho ex come into the picture – and that’s not a good thing.  We have a father who has a pure hatred for things that he can’t control, we have drug allegations and we have a relationship that is so tentative and fragile that even a little whisper of a breath will break it.  Where we are left off at the very end of this book is one that’s really an edge.  You want to hope for the best, yet you know that whatever sense of security that we have is going to be broken as soon as we stop being cautious.  So, thankfully the 3rd book is out and i have it in my library so i’m going to dive right into it tonight and i’ll let you know what i think.  I can’t wait to see where Alexander and Clara end up, and the fear that i have knowing that the epilogue teased someone buying a gun ….well i wonder who’s going to make it to the end of the trilogy.  i’ll leave you with those parting thoughts and enjoy!

Review: For King and Country (The Royals Saga #1) by Geneva Lee

Title: For King and Country
Author:  Geneva Lee
Publisher/Year:  Westminster Press 5/5/14
Length:  275 Pages
Series: The Royals Saga #1

Overview

When he kissed me, I was shocked. He was a stranger and still so familiar. It wasn’t until I woke up to my picture splashed on the cover of tabloids that I realized I knew who he was.

Prince Alexander of Cambridge.

Royal bad boy.

Exiled heir to the throne.

He isn’t Prince Charming. He’s controlling. He’s demanding. He’s dangerous. And I can’t say no to him.

We both have secrets—secrets that could tear us apart or drive us closer together—and as the paparazzi exposes each one, I have to decide just how far I’m willing to go for King and Country.

My Thoughts

LOVED. IT.

I don’t say that lightly or often, but yes, i LOVED IT.  This was a take on the genre that i haven’t read at all before and it was so nice.  Not just the fact that it’s a royal and not a billionaire, but that there’s so much more complex about it because of that.

We begin this story on the precipice of something big for Clara our leading lady – she’s just graduating from Oxford and starting her life as an individual.  It’s at the ceremony / party that her best friend Belle tells her that she really needs to take some chances and get back out there in the dating world since she’s single and really needs to secure her future.  Among this crowd it’s all about money and title, and while Clara has the money, she’s still a bit scorned given that she’s semi-American – meaning that she’s got an American accent even though she has British citizenship since her father is a Brit.

So, it’s on this day that her life changes – while she’s running out of the party room to cry and de-stress, she sees a stranger in the darkness that she baits a bit – not intentionally of course – just telling him that smoking isn’t allowed – and these words really change her world.  He has this sexual magnetism that draws her in, and she finds herself in an intimate situation with him that she’s now sure she wants to end.  He’s a stranger and this is what makes it exciting.

It’s the next morning like the synopsis says that she discovers that he’s a stranger, but to only her – he’s the prince and her life is now in the tabloids.  What she soon learns though is that there’s so much darkness around him, and that maybe it’s still worth the exciting fling.  since that’s all she thinks he wants since he’s a ‘playboy’ or at least that’s what the gossip rags say.

Where we are taken on this journey is one where there are so many secrets that they both hold close to them, but they find that there’s definitely more than just a physical attraction.  The problem of course is that Alexander is the prince and there are expectations of who he will be with and what he’s to do.  His family is a mess – his father is domineering, his mother is dead, and his brother seems to be their only ally.  The circle that surrounds Alexander also makes things even more difficult given that Clara knows they will hate her and think she’s a whore – all of which Alexander couldn’t care less about.

What i think was really amazing about this story is that we’re given some of the secrets – not all – and i think that there’s definitely more to come.  Alexander is haunted by the death of his sister Sarah – a result of a car accident that he doesn’t remember – but i have a feeling that Pepper knows something – and that personally i think that it was her fault.  I don’t know.

What i do hope is that Clara and Alexander will find a way to be together and be happy – since that seems impossible.  they have such chemistry and passion between them that it seems like it’s suited for a happy ending.

The other nice thing here is that we see that Alexander is a dominant.  Not in the nice safe way at least – that’s what makes this even better – he’s got a fury and anger that he tries to control and reign in, but it manifests in a hot and over-powering need for Clara, all the time.  and he’s not gentle…which while i don’t know if i like – i can appreciate in this story.

I can’t wait not until book 2 comes out – and it sounds like i’ll have to wait until the fall.  I’ll be waiting eagerly for it, because i’m really invested now – i loved the characters -their dynamics, and i think that even without the heat between these 2, there’s still a great story.  we’re all hoping for the best for Edward, David, and even Belle  – and i think that their journeys will continue with gusto along side Clara and Alexander.

I’ll try to be patient – i don’t know how well that will work.  enjoy!!
