Overview

I never thought I’d lose control, but his desire took me right to the edge.

Powerful, ambitious, and devastatingly sexy, Jackson Steele was unlike any other man I’d ever known. He went after what he wanted with his whole mind, body, and soul—and I was the woman in his sights. One touch and I surrendered, one night together and I was undone.

Jackson and I had secrets, dark pieces of our pasts that threatened to swallow us both. We couldn’t outrun our demons, or the people trying to tear us apart. But in our passion we found salvation, and in each other’s arms we found release.

I was scared to trust Jackson fully, to finally let go. Yet no matter the dangers that lay ahead, I knew I was his—and now that we’ve laid claim, there’s no more holding back.

My Thoughts

I LOVE just about everything that J Kenner writes and this 2nd installment into the Stark International series is right up there with amazing reads.  We are continuing the story with Jackson and Sylvia, and you know that it’s going to get juicier since there are so many secrets that they are keeping from each other and from others.  Jackson’s one off the bat is the reveal to Damian that they are brothers – and that goes horribly wrong.  Syl is left to try to sort out what to do next since Jackson is fired…and when Jackson’s temper gets the best of him, he fights.  and that’s something that we see as a reoccurring and a thing that Syl and he have to work out solves for together.

Then there’s the fact that Syl has her own dark past that’s being brought to the forefront now that Jackson’s gone and beat up Reed – the man who’s behind the torture all those years ago, and the question now is not ‘if’ he’ll release what he has on her, but when.  The pain behind all of that comes to a head as well – since we learn the details behind what Syl’s dad did it for, and who else knows or doesn’t. Jackson of course being the alpha male and protector that he is causes more problems than solve’s and i don’t know about any other readers at this point in the story – but i wondered if it was the last thing that would break them up.

Then of course, there’s a bit of a secret that Jackson’s kept from Sylvia and when it’s found out, not by Jackson telling her but by Damian revealing info to her, well, that’s really what i think will do them in, and we see them part ways on a bad note.  The question of course is whether there’s enough good stuff there to keep them together.

For you fans of J Kenner, you know that where there’s a really engaging story line there’s just as equally engaging heat and passion.  there’s NO SHORTAGE of that here.  We see these 2 use each other in body mind and soul like they are starving and each other is the only thing that can help them survive.  It’s powerful, it’s sexy, it’s downright naughty at times and it’s HOT.  i love when we get to see and feel the passion between characters and the chemistry here is palpable.

So on that note, we’re left with another GREAT cliffhanger – someone’s dead – we don’t know who’s done it but we know who’s being investigated and it does not bode well.  Now it’s the wait for the next and final installment and i’ll try to be patient.  Have a great sunday everyone!
