Overview

Unable to let Dana slip away again, Mason bids on the one thing he’s always wanted–even if it is completely forbidden. He’s fantasied about having Dana to himself for years, touching her smooth skin, tasting her sweet lips. But Dana is off-limits…or is she? All it takes is just one kiss to find out…

My Thoughts

The finale that we’ve been waiting for – i think that it’s safe to say that we were all curious to see how things would end up given that Mason’s father was out for revenge, blood and well – Dana.

That’s not the focal point though for much of this third installment.  What we get here is Mason’s attempt to push Dana away by showing her what it is that he likes in a sub – and how much he needs more than vanilla.  what he doesn’t expect though is how tenacious Dana is and how far she will go to please him.

Throughout this final book, we get what Ms. Carew is great at yet again – the heat and passion, but the interesting bits of BDSM brought to the story line in a way that’s also very tasteful.  I think that there’s something to be said about showing the lifestyle in a way that’s very subtle but that still shows us that the people get what they need in their own way.

I think that as we go through this story, we keep wondering what’s going to happen next.  i mean, we know that Chas wants to take Mason down and also get his hands on Dana.  but the other question of course too is that Maria’s a wild card.  She’s got this past with Mason of course, and she’s married now to his father – but i feel like there’s still a pending twist.  I hope that we get to see that play out.

The struggle that they deal with though as a couple is that there’s a bit of a scandal that comes out with the media saying that Mason’s sleeping with his sister and no one wants to clarify that point.  There’s also the point that Mason’s going to protect her with everything that he has and that means sending her to Paris.  That distance can do horrible things to a couple, so it’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out.  And finally, the final chapter – where we see there’s a shift in power, the Dom becomes the sub.  interesting no?  On that note, it’s a great series and you should definitely check it out.  Have a great weekend all!

Overview

Meet Mason. He is used to getting what he wants. The head of his own corporate empire, he has wealth, means, and no shortage of beautiful women ready to fulfill his every need. But despite having it all, Mason is bored. Until he comes face-to-face with a woman from his past—one who will do anything to get what she wants. But is her desire for Mason worth the risk?

My Thoughts

And the story continues – we are at a point where Dana has pushed Mason to the point that he’s going to give in to her, but at what cost.  And so we see how their feelings are still a point of contention, how they are obviously attracted to one another, but Mason will go to any length to keep her at arms length.

While expected and predictable, i think that there’s an element of depth to this story since we continue to get the flash backs and return to present day.  Things become clear as to why Mason left the house and why Dana felt rejected – and why she’s acting as she is.

Ms. Carew – our gifted author continues to keep us really interested in the heat and passion between these two, even when it’s taking quite some time to get ot the point where Mason fulfills the contract.  It’s not until the last few pages that we see things get interesting.  He calls her Sylvie – the name of one of his subs, which of course raises questions, and then there’s the reappearance of Maria – the maid that ruined everything back all those years ago.

The point where we’re left – well it’s a bit nuts.  While we expected to see the outcome a bit, i think that it’ll be even more interesting to see what happens since their worlds are going to get flipped upside down.  Dana’s professed her love and admitted that she’s more invested than she wanted.  Mason’s got an emotional tie to her, but won’t really act on it.  and there are all these outside factors that are about to wreak havoc on them.  on that note, i’ve downloaded #3 and i’ll have to dive into that in a little bit.

Overview

Dana’s always had a clear vision of what she wanted out of life. But when her father dies during her final year of college, Dana’s whole world threatens to topple down. In desperate need of money, she comes up with an idea. It’s scandalous. It’s HOT. And it’s got everybody talking. . .Is Dana really going to auction off her own virginity? And at what cost?

My Thoughts

Well Opal Carew is one of my favs, and this is yet another example of what a good story can start out as.  In this first novella installment, we are introduced to our lead, Dana who’s in a tough spot where her mother’s cut her off and she needs to pay for college.  At the same time, we also meet Mason who’s quite successful and a Dom, and is finding himself bored with his many subs.

Where their paths cross, well that’s what Ms Carew does really well.  In this story, we’re getting a bit of past and present in the mix.  We see how their lives are going right now in present day, yet we also get to see how their paths actually intersected in the past and that makes things all that much better.

It’s not until Dana does what her best friend suggests and puts herself up on this site that sells your virginity for $50k, and ironically it’s Mason while he’s bored that browses the site and comes across her profile.  Knowing that he doesn’t want anyone else to deflower her, he buys her contract and that’s where this story takes us .

Since it’s a first installment and novella, we don’t get too far into their relationship, but it’s set up nicely, with an understanding of the basis that Dana’s had a crush on Mason since she was 16, and Mason’s always found her exciting, but won’t really go there.  The question is what is it going to take for them to actually make some progress and who’s going to get hurt while it happens.  Apparently Mason has some relationship ghosts that Dana may know about, and Dana has her own insecurities to deal with.  I think that we’ll get something great here so i’m off to get #2 and continue the story.
