Overview

Lana has chosen Billie and her friend Julie Sugar to be her bridesmaids and preparations are under way as the big day draws ever closer for the besotted couple. Billie loves Lana and would do anything for her, but Julie’s feelings are more concealed as she hides a shocking secret from her friend.

Though Lana believes she has sidestepped Blake’s treacherous ex to win her man, storm clouds are never far away where Victoria is concerned.

Will all go smoothly for the lovers on their big day?

Or is there unforeseen drama that may yet still spoil the couple’s happily ever after?

My Thoughts

For the final installment of Blake and Lana’s story – i think that we get the nice ending – a culmination of their love and whatnot.  Their wedding is upon us and we know that she’s going to be nothing short of the most beautiful bride ever.

What’s nice about this story is the full on introduction not only to Julie, but we really get to know Vann (aka Quinn) – and that’s something that i’ve been waiting for since we never really got to get a story out of him aside from knowing that he’s the brother that we like more.

What Ms Le Carre does really well here is that we don’t feel like one story is taking too much away from the other.  We still have the concerns and fears of the Brotherhood that plagues Lana – but we get to see a really hot and sexy story line develop with Julie and Vann -with some great undercurrent of jealously and hatred from Julie to Lana.

So…all in all i think that it works.  The chemistry between Julie (Sugar) and Vann is hot.  Vann has taken it upon himself to teach Julie what it is to be a wanted lover – so that Julie could draw Jack in and away from Lana, yet, it’s his skill and compassion that makes things get even more complicated.  Also – the fact that maybe he’s not what he seems makes things even better.  He shows Julie how to perform to make her lover infatuated with her, and it gives her a sense of worth and value that makes her even sexier – and confident.

So – a win win in my eyes – and to know that while Blake and Lana’s direct story is over – there are still so many others that we will continue on the journey with that it’s quite alright by me.  Masquarade i believe is the next on the list – so when that comes out in August – i’ll be in line to read it! Enjoy!

Overview

The COMPILATION includes…
The first two chapters of Forty 2 Days told from Blake Law Barrington’s POV,
bonus teasers, excerpts and a Q & A with Blake.

My Thoughts

Not quite a novella – but always nice to get a reverse POV on things that we’ve read before.  The good thing about this series though i have to say is that you don’t have to have it fresh in your mind to be able to pick right back up – that’s how compelling the story is.  So when we get jostled around a bit through a few installments to get Blake’s POV, it’s not hard to remember exactly where we are in the story.

so…not enough to make me take pause before diving into the next book, but a nice way to spend the last 30 minutes or so.
