The Billionaire Boys Club is a secret society of six men who have vowed success—at any cost. Not all of them are old money, but all of them are incredibly wealthy. They’re just not always as successful when it comes to love…

Audrey Petty’s always been the responsible one. The good twin.  Successful, dependable, and trustworthy—that’s Audrey. She’d be the perfect girlfriend for her childhood crush, billionaire Cade Archer…except that she’s pretty sure she’s not even on his radar. But when fate (and her chaotic twin) come together, Audrey finds out that she’ll be spending the next month with Cade at his remote cabin retreat. It’s a dream come true…

Until she meets her worst nightmare.

Billionaire playboy Reese Durham is used to seducing women to get what he wants. But when stiff, too-proper Audrey bursts into the private mountain lodge and scares his companion out the door, it’s time for a little revenge. It’s clear that Audrey’s in love with his buddy, Cade…and it’s clear to Reese that blackmailing Audrey with this information can get her to agree to just about anything. Like furtive kisses in the dark, or a secret rendezvous in the woods. Audrey may think she knows what she wants, but Reese is determined to show her what she needs.

And as Reese discovers the volatile minx behind the buttoned-up exterior, he starts to think maybe she’s just what he needs, too

My Thoughts

We’ve become well aware of Audrey as she’s Logan’s assistant and she had a role in all of the other ladies stories – either through helping Bronte through her struggles or being the younger sister of Gretchen in book 2.  I knew what was coming from the horrible experience that she had at Hunter/Gretchen’s party when Daphne her twin showed up high and drunk and caused a spectacle.

So in this story we get to see Audrey’s dreams come true – in an odd way.  She’s trying to help Daphne get sober since her twin won’t go to rehab again, and Cade, one of the billionaires and her childhood friend has offered his house and his assistance to get Daphne sober. This means that Audrey has the chance that she’s always wanted to spend time with him since she’s been in love with him forever and see where it goes.

Of course things don’t always work out as planned – because as soon as they get to Cade’s house, they find Reese there, with another woman and that throws a curve ball in things.  Daphne’s also not the easiest to deal with since she’s having a tough time coming down off her drugs and substances.  What ensues is a ‘hate hate’ relationship with Audrey and Reese, Daphne being needy and Cade being overly attentive to that, and Audrey finding herself attracted to Reese in ways that she didn’t expect and didn’t want.

All the while, still harboring feelings for Cade and not sure what the implications will be.  Throughout this story we get to see the dynamics between the couples, and see what will develop.  There are a lot of things that were quite expected in terms of who would hook up and who’s feelings would get hurt.  I can’t say that there was any twist here that was unexpected and unpredictable which is a bit of a let down since i think that there was more of that tension in the previous installments of the series.

While i like the story and i like that it’s continuing, i really hoped that there would be more tension which would lead to more passion and that’s not really what we got.  We got luke warm sensuality between the characters, lacking the steam and passion that i’ve come to appreciate, but at least we got to see characters come together that deserve each other.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see who’s story is next……this was average but i’m not willing to give up on the series yet.
