My Thoughts

I love sweet short stories like this one since they are easy to read, often packed with a lot of action, and some great romance between just a handful of characters.  In this story we get to meet Sienna who’s got a pedigree’d background, yet she’s trying to make it on her own which isn’t panning out as she’s planned.  It’s through a chance encounter at a fundraiser (that she would have been attending in another time)  that sparks fly with Jason Sloan, an ex hockey player turned business man that is the talk of the town when he shows up to functions.

The chemistry between these 2 like i said before, is palpable.  They are clearly drawn to each other at the detriment of sanity and the well being of their livelihoods and this is where the story really takes shape.  The question that begs to be answered is whether or not they will be able to find a middle ground with their attraction while Jason finalizes a big deal and Sienna tries to make some money.  It’s tough for sure, and knowing that our leading man has to be controlling, it’s kind of entertaining to watch.

As much as i enjoyed this story – there’s still so much that was introduced that was never quite answered.

1) what’s the deal with Sienna’s parents?  what will become of them now that their situation has changed and i feel like Sienna never got to confront them about it

2) what’s going to happen with Jason’s arrest and the detective and WHY was Nina so riled up by him?  I’m curious if it was fear or attraction – since we know that Nina’s getting tired of being single

3) what’s next for Sienna professionally?  we see that her career path is taking a turn, yet i’m curious on how it’s going to pan out.

So, all in all a pretty enjoyable read – and i’m curious if we’ll ever get to dive in deeper.  Regardless, we get heat, passion, a nice romance and some naughtiness that will hold you over through this quick read.  enjoy!
